Buy all 3 and read in order for the BEST trilogy ever!!!

Now this is what I'm talking about!! I really enjoyed this book. I new right away what this book was when I was asked to write the review by amazon, with just the title cover to go by. I loved this ENTIRE trilogy! I bought and read the first one (Sammy Dane and his friends) and I was hooked. I knew I would buy the other two and did so that day. I didn't even read what they were about.
I totally recommend this series to anyone who enjoys, humor, romance and smokin hot studs to warm you up on a cold, cold night! You do not want to read these out of order tho! They are stand alone books, but they also have loads of story from the previous two. It just flows right along, taking over where the previous left off. They are all very well written. You can't help but fall In love with the characters and the story lines leave you wanting more!

Graham has a secret that is not much of a secret, at least not as much as he thinks. He has a lover he does not want to acknowledge. The reason is actually quite stupid, if you ask me. It is even a bit confusing. Graham is of mixed origin and his mother has one demand – no white men for her son. What is this? You are married to a white man yourself! But is she actually resentful because he is gay and thus she thinks she will never have grandchildren?
Darren has been Graham’s dirty secret for far too long and his feelings get the better of him. Being left not only once, but twice, by the love of his life, he decides to end it all. How he was going to do it, is not said explicit, but a dying woman saves his life by giving him a purpose to live. And it might be that even she will survive her ordeal.
Not quite as good as the two previous in this series (I laughed more then), but also in this story there is some suspense. And the mother-in-law will accept Darren in the end.
And I suppose that there will be at least one more book.

About the Author
Richard Newton is an entrepreneur, consultant and writer. After spending almost ten years writing about business for The Sunday Telegraph and The Mail on Sunday, Richard decided to switch sides, walk the talk and run his own business. I loved this book

A very successful friend recently told me that the secret of his success was that he always thinks big. So when I saw this book I decided to see what tips it might have.

I loved this book. It is easy to read and jammed packed full of great practical ideas and tips.

I kept having to put the book down to jot down new ideas that I wanted to implement straight away. Less than 24 hours later I have already used some of them successfully to take a new business venture to the next level.

If you want to take your business, your thinking and your life to the next level then this book is a must read.

This book offers a mental journey with the energy, pace, and impact of a Cirque du Soleil performance.

As I sometimes do, I read this book in combination with another, published in 1959: David J. Schwartz's The Magic of Thinking Big: Set Your Goals High...and Then Exceed Them. There are differences between them, of course. (How could there not be?) However, both stress the great importance of personal accountability, of taking ownership of the consequences of one's decision. I agree that we cannot control everything that happens to us but we can control how we respond to whatever happens to us. Also, both David Schwartz and Newton are convinced -- as am I -- that most human limits are self-imposed. This is what Henry Ford had in mind many years ago when observing, "Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're probably right."

Newton has the significant advantage of calling upon extensive research in neuroscience that was not available to Schwartz 55 years ago. (However, there have been two updated editions of the Schwartz book but the key insights and recommendations remain the same, as has human nature.) Aristotle observed long ago, "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit." Perhaps Newton had that thought in mind when developing these "Nine Habits of Thinking Big," accompanied by my annotations:

1. Swim Don't Float [or Sink]: Keep moving (especially in rough water) and in the right direction. Not all change is progress but no change, no movement, is stagnation. Newton also warns against being carried along by what others think and do.

2. Clear Some (Head) Space: Mental clutter accumulates fast and obstructs and/or distracts focused thinking. F. Scott Fitzgerald once suggested that "the test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function." That's two ideas, not several dozen. Whenever I need to clear my mind, I take a brisk walk or listen to Glenn Gould's performance Bach's Goldberg Variations.

3. Feed Your Mind: The human mind really does have a sponge-like capacity that can be increased substantially. I "feed" mine with what I learn from others' minds but, daily, I also concentrate on strengthening certain cognitive skills. Each human life is a work-in-progress, with attitudes and behavior guided by habits. Many people are mentally and/or spiritually anorexic.

4. Notice Things: We tend to see so much but notice so much less. Yogi Berra: "You can observe a lot by just watching."

5. Change Reality (...Don't Deny It): In other words, replace an unacceptable reality with one that is worthy of what you value, perhaps even cherish.

6. Have a Big Ego and a Small Ego: This is a paradox. Newton's comments remind me of Socrates' response when told that he was the wisest man in the world. "If so, it is because all I know is that I know nothing." Only someone with both a big ego and small ego could say that.

7. Know Your Weapon: The term "weapon" has several meanings. Newton's point is that we need to be able to attack but also to defend. Perhaps it is having highly developed inductive and deductive skills or it could be a refusal to remain silent during a moral crisis.

8. Travel Light: No excess mental "baggage." There is much to be said for following lean thinking principles that include constant pruning. What Ernest Hemingway once characterized as "a built-in, shock-proof crap detector" will also come in handy. You get the idea.

9. Twang: Somewhat similar to a "Eureka!" moment. Newton characterizes it as a "click." During more than 20 years of classroom teaching, I could see it in the eyes of certain students: they "got it" when others didn't.

Richard Newton provides in this "little book" an abundance of invaluable information, insights, and counsel (his and others') that can help many of those who read the book to "aim higher and go further than [they] ever thought possible." Yes, the material is remarkably informative but also very entertaining. I read it and then re-read it twice before embarking on the composition of this brief commentary. Each time I either learned something new or understood something better. Bravo!

This hardcover, beautifully illustrated book covers three important areas in the evolution-creation controversy: biology, geology, and cosmology. A significant feature of the book's layout is the concept of two facing pages for each topic, complete with text, full-color picture, and a short paragraph called "skeptics corner". This layout by Bruce Malone has resulted in a book that is the perfect tool for urging high school students that the path of evolution is not true science and that the scientific realities of the Bible should be suppressed no longer.

The author consulted literature written by scientific creationists and evolutionists and shows that the time has come for the principles of science to be applied to evolutionary beliefs. This includes the fallacies of claims that the earth is billions of years old and that all life originated spontaneously from dirt and chemicals. The reader is introduced to the writings of Micheal Behe, Martin Lubenow, Ian Taylor, Michael Denton, Andrew Snelling, Kurt Wise, John Morris, Michael Oard, and numerous others who have researched evolutionary literature, laid bare the false claims, and presented facts to show that evolution has never been a fact.

Under the heading "Folder Mountains", Malone writes, "Throughout the mountain ranges of the world, there are enormous layers of sediment which have been bent and folded without breaking, This could only happen if these mountains were uplifted while the sediment was of a soft, pliable, mud-like consistency." (p. 64). He then tells the evolutionary story about the hundreds of millions of years needed to accumulate the sediment and how it would break under the enormous upward pressures. In contrast, the Biblical record describes a worldwide flood that resulted in a rapid accumulation of sediment that can account for the folded rock layers now visible.

Under the heading, "The Mystery of the Woolly Mammoths", Malone writes, "Skeptics have not been able to come up with a model of Earth history that adequately explains either the cause of the ice age or the demise of the mammoths" (p. 78). He then supplies the reasoning given by Michael Oard for the existence of semitropical vegetation found undecayed in the mammoth stomachs, and the scientific rationale for the existence of the mammoths in the frozen north in the first place.

Using this logical approach, the author describes fifty of the most convincing evidence that we have a Creator God and a Bible that has recorded the facts. Not content just to write this book and have it published, Bruce Malone, full-time director for Search for the Truth Ministries, has traveled extensively in the United States and Europe, distributing copies free to students, teacher, missionaries, and prisoners.

I have just finished Censored Science The Suppressed Evidence by Bruce Malone, and it is a keeper. When I saw that it was evidently “self published” I had my reservations. I had yet to read a “self published” book that was worth anything, but Malone changed my mind.
The illustrations are brilliant and well done. They help the reader think about the text but it is the information which Bruce shares that is fabulous. I marked a few places that gave me new information. One was on page 20 about the Urey/Miller experiment. It was first promoted in 1953 as an explanation for how to create life from a proper construction of organic substances. I did not realize that this widely publicized experiment first occurred just after I was born [nor the problems not exposed to most students]. How people imagine that they can make the spiritual out of the material is beyond my comprehension.
I loved the plant section on page 40. I have seldom seen the problems of plant evolution laid out so clearly. I am also glad for the careful referencing. The Skeptic’s Corner is a good part of the presentation. Although Malone expresses more skepticism of evolution than creation, I can understand that. He does not actually give a fair presentation of the “other side.” But why should he? We can read the “other side” in National Geographic and a multitude of other publications. Malone does not need to litter his work with nonsense. Most readers have already heard and read “the other side” in media presentations on the subject since grade school. It is about time the creation viewpoint got more press.
I love the way Malone winds up his presentation on pages 102-103. God is the greatest joker in the universe and to destroy most of the evidence for naturalism as He has so cleverly done. The evidence for creation is one of the greatest jokes on “intellectuals” who propound the philosophy of Naturalism that I have ever seen. Malone’s presentation illustrates this humor of God even though he may not realize the extent of how he does it.
This book was treat to read.

Reviewed Factual evidence giving both sides of evolution/design debate.

Does a good job of summing up the evolution Vs design arguments and especially the information witheld from students in order to sway people to evolutionary points of view.
Well documented evidence and excellent pictures.
At first I didnt believe some of the evidences it showed as being suppressed but further research on my part leads me to the shocking conclusion that this is indeed the case.
I give it 4 stars because I believe it is a bit of a jump to go from censorship to disproving evolution.
No matter which side of the evolution fence you are on, censorship of this magnitude prevents science doing its job = arriving at the truth.
If you are a true scientist= willing to be impartial-the true scientific approach- this will be a riveting, enjoyable if shocking read that will update your world view a decade or so.

This is the first time I have upgraded a review on any book.
Censored Science is now required reading for my students, as it should be in any educational institution claiming to teach science.
There are no false claims in this book as science stands today, and it appears college science is lagging perhaps 50 years behind due to suppression and censorship of this scale.

Other required viewing for my students:
"Expelled" by Ben Stein,
dealing with the politics of censorship and suppressed evidence in our Universities.
Students enjoy these assignments.

Do you have an open mind about science?

With all the debate going on right now about global warming, many people are starting to ask about other "scientific truths" that they have been told over and over again. If all you ever hear is one side of an issue, it becomes ingrained in your mind as though it were solid, undeniable "truth". When I hear statements like "scientists all agree about ..." or "there is no doubt ..." then I begin to be very skeptical. Scientists are just like everyone else in many ways (since I am a chemist I feel pretty confident in saying that!) and can also fall prey to "group think", even on scientific issues.

I grew up believing that the earth was billions of years old. That was all I was ever taught and all I ever heard about. I eagerly learned about dinosaurs and brontosaurus was my favorite. Guess what? Now many scientists believe there was never a "brontosaurus" - it was a FAKE by some claiming to be a scientist who wanted to exaggerate the size of the creature and so he deliberately misaligned and placed the fossil bones to make his find the largest dinosaur ever found to that date (and it held the record for a very long time). Yes, it still was a dinosaur, just not so record-breaking. The scientist fooled people for a very long time.

Censored Science is a book to read with an open mind, asking yourself if it is just possible that what you have been told about the earth's ancient history is correct. What if there is another explanation for all that "evidence" of billions of years? What if few scientists have the courage to REALLY dig in and examine alternative views using true scientific analysis and methods? I personally can hardly believe the way carbon-14 and other dating methods are used - no where else in science have I heard of getting a wide range of results and then just picking the oldest and declaring that to be the truth. Did you know that many rock formations are "dated" by the type of fossils in them, and in turn many fossils are "dated" by the type of rock they are in ... isn't that circular logic?

Censored Science contains beautiful photos, captivating narrative and thought-provoking statements and questions. As a Christian, you have to grapple with some very fundamental issues from Genesis. Sure, it is easier to ignore them (and it is a small step from ignore to ignorance). Do you know what you believe? Do you know why you believe it? What if there is another explanation that fits perfectly with the Biblical description and timeline and at the same time explains and fits with ALL the geological and archeological evidence around us?

This is an easy to read, very easy to look at and easy to understand book. It is a super addition to your library ... but don't leave it on a shelf! Put it out on the coffee table or near the couch so your children, friends and visitors can enjoy it too.

Excellent source of truth that we haven't heard before

We've all been taught things in school that we take for granted as being true, such as the universe is billions of years old and humans have been on the earth for millions of years. But is it all true?

This book takes a wide variety of topics and digs deep into them to help you understand TRUTH, not just from a biblical perspective, but also from looking at the world around us. By reading the book you will see how there is little real evidence for the evolution we've been taught and loads of real evidence for the Creation that the Bible teaches.

A great new story
By mr dead
A sweet story. the first thing you notice is the quality of the language used. it is atmospheric and mood setting, as If the word choice helps to conjure up the images of the period.
But the story is novel and interesting too. Lilly is setting off for a new life in a new country but she is also taking suppressed aspects of her past with her, and there is a conflict that comes about on this journey as she comes to realize that everything she thought she wanted in her new life was more of a front to hide the life she knew she always wanted. its a very standout theme and I thought the writer addressed it very well.
in the end that new life and the promises of what she thought she wanted are put to the test and there are some moments of drama, upheaval, violence and sweet romantic times along with some really sexy bits with clothes flying off and the usual stuff you get from this writer who wants you to get excited about reading her stories.

Wonderful story!

A wonderful story, very clean writing, and I am very impressed with the research of this era. I saw one reviewer gave this story a bad review because they don't care for the1800's. Not sure what they thought "Victorian" meant, but hey, I guess some folks just don't really pay attention. This author has really impressed me, and I will be reading all of her work. She paints a lovely canvas with her words, and I'd be able to read her grocery list!

A beautiful romance.

Normally I don't like this genre but this captivated me from the beginning. I can hardly imagine how hard it must be for a lesbian woman to live in that time but after this story I can empathize. The story is very well written. Enough drama and tension. And the end was heartening despite the rise.

The opening poem of this memoir is crushingly poignant. This is my first experience with e-books and I am sorry that I was unable to copy it and save to a collection I have. My initial impressions were surprise and sadness. Surprise, that after being a close, though geographically distant, friend of the author’s brother for the past sixty years, I was never aware of the severe anguish of his childhood. I was aware of a certain distance between him and his parents but never any of the graphic details as described in this account. Sadness, that my good friend and his brother endured such a painful and traumatic experience. Although Laurence discloses many humorous incidents in their childhood there is an underlying fear that assaulted their early years. Their parent’s history of being abused themselves translated into their victimization of their own children. The reoccurring thoughtless taunts of associates and strangers were an additional sorrow. Finally, there is joy in their overcoming those times to become the caring and serving men they are.

Compelling Revelations!

Although sad, it was a wonderfully written accounting of Mr. Amuso's life. I've heard the stories through the years of the abuse received by Larry and his brother, but until I actually read the incidents in detail, did I realize how painful it had to be for him to retain all the abuse in such detail, write about them, and forgive the wrongdoings. One thing for sure, Mr. Amuso did not pass on the abusive behavior with his own family. You couldn't ask for a more kind, loving, compassionate, supportive father who did all he could to prevent the legacy of his parent's abuse to be passed on. He has done tremendous things in his life to promote the positive imagine of Italians, that hopefully will heal the pain he endured in his childhood just for being a "dago".

A Ride with Pride

The story of Italians and the prejudices that they encountered can relate to many other ethnic groups. The writer clearly brings the reader into the lives of a family and of himself, that felt the hardships and prejudices that were real as America grew with it's immigrants in the early 1900's, and the subsequent family members adaptation to living and assimilating with other nationalities.
You will laugh and be sad while reading this book, it is truly a fascinating story.

Worthwhile Business Book

This book does a great job of providing someone interested in starting their own business with the foundational thinking they need to proceed. There are a million and one things to consider, and it only takes glossing over one area or another to invite disaster. What I liked about the author’s approach is she puts everything down under one cover that you need to do to help ensure success. She helps you with the preparations, the information gathering, and the skill building needed to develop the confidence and belief in yourself to succeed. She also stages everything for you so you know what sequence of challenges to tackle first before moving on to the next thing on your checklist; that alone can save you feeling like you’re spending a lot of your time running around with your head cut off. By her taming the sea of unknowns, one chapter at a time, you build the confidence once step at a time that you need to succeed.

With that said, the reader has to be realistic. This book is the blueprint for the house, it isn’t the house itself. A lot of follow up work will be needed, a lot of googling of additional information, a lot of speaking to business gurus. To her credit, the author is honest and up front about this from the beginning, and is quick to point you in the right directions for additional resources.

My one complaint was that there are a fair amount of typos and some awkward sentences in this book that could have benefitted from a good copy editor. If you’re a substance over style type of person, you may be tempted to ignore that and still rate the book five stars, provided that you’ve done as I cautioned in the prior paragraph and adjusted your expectations in line with reality about what any one business book can offer. I myself went with four stars entirely because of the weakness in the copy-editing. But as far as content goes, I believe the author delivers on the promise of the premise.

Great Business book to read and exercise its advice

Great Business book to read and exercise its advice. It includes very constructive contents, easy to follow ideas any start-ups or a running business. Author has made a good effort to include latest practices and use of technology in today's commercial world. The structure of the book is logical and clarity is of high standard. My favourite part of the book was the useful ideas pointed out to improve customers' satisfaction, which nowadays is more valid than 10 years ago. Attracting new customers and keeping the existing is more important than focusing on competition.
I can confidently say that this guide is full of positive advice and inspirational tips for development of any business. The style of writing is also comprehensible and easy to understand for all readers. Most importantly this book conveys excellent business advice, and one reviewer has said it’s a “Practical book to use for anyone” and I completely agree with him.

A fantastic business book for those who would like to be self-employed.

This is a fantastic book for anyone who is seriously considering
going into business. It has an accessible step by step guide
which takes you through the process of writing your business
plan, to running your own business and knowing how to market
your product or services to a niche market.

It is written in a clear concise manner and is easy to read,
especially as business can be so complex. The diagrams in
the book are well produced, for example I get to see a
visual on business plan and it puts it into bite size chunks
for me.

I particularly enjoyed the chapter on outsourcing because it
demonstrates how you can save money in business. Often start
ups businesses get confuse with marketing and advertising
being the same Lalani shows us the vast difference. This
book was a great read and I highly recommend it to those who
would like to become a business owner.
