Good book, with a failure to translate

I would describe 'Crisis in an Atlantic Empire' as an excellent book marred by the fact that it has large chunks of un-translated Spanish quotes in the text. This is in striking contrast to earlier books in the authors' series on Spain's overseas Empire where all quotes were entirely translated into English. As it is, much context is lost if one is not fluent in Spanish, and being forced to skip through the text periodically breaks up the narrative. I don't understand why John Hopkins Press would allow such a book to be published (especially at $90 for each book), when it would be easy to hire a translator for the Spanish quotes. This book should be of interest to historians who don't work on Spain or Latin America (I myself work on the Napoleonic Empire) but they'll miss out thanks to the poor editorial decision of Hopkins Press.
