Kieran York worked as a reporter and reviewer for both newspapers and magazines and was a magazine publisher for three years. She also wrote a collection of lesbian short stories entitled Sugar With Spice.
During the seventies, she wrote and performed songs with a woman's band.
Kieran has been a guest lecturer and panel member at various events, including Rocky Mountain Book Exhibition, Colorado Woman Musicians Series, and Sisters in Crime Mystery Writers programs. She has written for "Journal of Mystery Readers International." In addition, she has given numerous campus and coffeehouse poetry readings and taught poetry and creative writing workshops.
She graduated from a Kansas university and attended Mexico's University of the Americas her junior year. She has done graduate work at the University of Colorado.
Kieran lives in the Rocky Mountain foothills with her schnauzer, Clover. She enjoys gardening, music, literature, art, and theatre. She considers her valuables to include Clover and other family and friends, her library, her antique typewriter collection, her guitar, and her garden.

A brilliant mystery!

Oh my, happens a lot in that little town. It is an action-packed adventure. A mystery with passionate love and also with heartache. As a sheriff, in addition to all the shocking events that surround her, Royce has her hands full with protecting her lover. Determined to corner the drifter, a sinister guy, she also is dealing with people who wanted her badge and worries about an approaching election. There were lots of obstacles because she is a Sapphic woman. She must fight against bigotry and hatred. Again, this has a very exciting storyline and the environment is still just as enchanting. I want to visit those beautiful mountains and wander into Timber City. Yes, Kieran does not disappoint her readers. Another great installment.

I love Royce!

I just read both the first Royce Madison mystery, and this one now. I love the area of Colorado, and the writing about it. The protagonist is the kind you can easily fall in love with. I'm going to continue reading the series. I enjoy the romance that is interspersed in with the mystery. This mystery was excellent, and all the characters and their dialogue are realistic. I enjoy the way the lesbians seem to fit in with the community. Also, there is a scene where Royce talks about bigotry, and that is a great scene. I'm hooked on the series now.

Another great story by Ms.York!!. I really like the characters and their interaction. The suspense is so well orchestrated. I could not guess the ending until I got there which is my benchmark for a well written plot. This is the second book I have read by this author. So glad I discovered her.

Hot and heart warming final chapter (?) to Will and The Boyfriends story

The Honeymoon is a more focused story. It is all about Will and The Boyfriends exploring their intimacy (kink) as they try to find their new roles after the wedding.
And oh yeah and it is still way hot; The Boyfriends have lots of sexy plans for their time with Will!

When I finished The Honeymoon I was pleasantly surprised to learn there was another book in the series to read. I had looked at Amazon's Kris Ripper Page where only book 1-8 was listed. So I had to search separately for the next book:
The New Born Year (A Scientific Method Story Book 9)
In book 9 we follow Truman’s sister Alison who attends a New Year weekend at The Boyfriends new beach house. This allows us an outside look at all the wonderful characters and Alison get to know her brother and his friends a whole lot better.

This is the story about how Hugh meets Nick – Hot stuff right there =)

I find the joy of doing own homegrown is to see your own plant growing each day and at the end of it you can share these fresh and healthier food with your family.

One comment is, it would be good if it were mentioned if the used soil in the container can be reused for different type of plant.

Its a good idea to switch to organic vegetables as these are free of harmful chemicals and richer in vitamins than the normal ones. This book serves as a good guide to growing your own organic vegetables in your own backyard. It provides a technique for growing almost all the common ones.

The story of Kali and Chris will leave you on edge and turning the pages at warp speed! They are so twisted and disturbed and at the same time completely enthralling! This is a must read and I'm so hoping the author lives up to her final words of "To Be Continued..." Because I'm itching with anticipation!

Engrossing!!

This book reads like a perfect storm-dangerous yet beautiful. I was so drawn into the characters of Cris and Kali they popped from the page. Being a speed reader I can count on one hand the number of books which actually have made me slow my pace to an almost comatose state because I enjoyed the story so much I didn't want it to end, this is certainly one.I am glad there is a second book. Job well done!!!

Good book, with a failure to translate

I would describe 'Crisis in an Atlantic Empire' as an excellent book marred by the fact that it has large chunks of un-translated Spanish quotes in the text. This is in striking contrast to earlier books in the authors' series on Spain's overseas Empire where all quotes were entirely translated into English. As it is, much context is lost if one is not fluent in Spanish, and being forced to skip through the text periodically breaks up the narrative. I don't understand why John Hopkins Press would allow such a book to be published (especially at $90 for each book), when it would be easy to hire a translator for the Spanish quotes. This book should be of interest to historians who don't work on Spain or Latin America (I myself work on the Napoleonic Empire) but they'll miss out thanks to the poor editorial decision of Hopkins Press.
