Warrior for Freedom is based upon the true story of Major Edward Pulido and recounts a life-changing incident which occurred on August 17, 2004, after 19 years with the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserve, when he was struck by a roadside bomb in the Iraq desert and seriously injured.

But where would he go? What would he do? How would he transition from a secure identity as a U.S. service member to a civilian with only one leg and no real passion, hope or purpose?

His final decision, to leave the military, was based in part on a compelling desire to reach out to other wounded veterans who were seeking help for their injuries and post-war obstacles.

A True American Hero!!!

Enjoyed reading this book so much even though at times was so touching to realize how complacent citizens as I, sometimes do not realize how much we do not give a lot of thought of what those who fight for our freedom are really experiencing minute by minute daily while fighting for our freedom and the freedom of others. Highly recommend this book and it is an eye-opener that I wish everyone could read and if others would do as much for our Country as this young man is doing our world would be a much better place. Thank you for your Service Major Ed Pulido!! Also for your service still to Veterans.

A unique spicy read

The Colors of Autumn is the third book in Silke Ming's Five Widows Series. With each new installment I noticed that each of the widows has different sexual tastes which adds its own flavor to the stories. They are always unique in their own way and are BIG with the sex scenes. I really liked this story a lot more then the last one. But there was a couple of small things that did bother me about this book.

Shortly after Autumn goes to Charleston to meet back with Bobby Jo for some more hot sex, Autumn learns that Bobby Jo likes to be in control in the bedroom. When Bobby Jo decides to do some personal grooming on Autumn, one of the terms that was used disturbed me. I did not like to think of a woman's mound to be a "grassy knoll" that needed to be "sheared like a spring lamb". This definitely made me think poor Autumn had a forest down there and I didn't find that sexy at all. However, the sex between Bobby Jo and Autumn was quite hot and inventive and was really something to read about. The only other thing that threw me slightly was I felt for Autumn's age, she was too naive and too young minded in my opinion. Other then these two things, I really did enjoy the story. I liked how Autumn was trying to find herself and thought her experimenting with Bobby Jo and Richard and her finally able to figure out what she really wanted was really well played.

With everything being so interesting and the story being really unique and sexy over all, I gave The Colors of Autumn a FOUR OUT OF FOUR STARS! Even though there was a couple of things that popped out as being a little odd, the story all together was really good and I found this to be one of my favorites in The Five Widows series.

Enjoyed the journey

Hiking affords ample time for thinking, for making connections and seeing things in new light. Hoosier does a fine job of inviting the reader into his experiences on the Appalachian Trail and the life lessons gleaned from fellow travelers, from within himself, and from his surroundings. As a retired pastor, he is able to make meaningful connections to the spiritual journey described in the Bible. Hoosier’s journey was a joy, even in the hardest places, and that’s a lesson worth sharing.

I was blessed for a few short years to have been a part of the congregation shepherded by Pastor Craig Clapper. His passion for the trail, and even more importantly, his passion for Christ, are very real. This book comes, not from a desire to be published, but as an outpouring of a heart fully devoted. A REAL SEA STORY BY A REAL MASTER MARINER

A beautifully told story of a life at sea. Lou Tew would say he was just doing his job, but he spent many years on the water doing challenging work and always made it look easy. He is fondly remembered by many shipmates because of the sort of man he was, which comes through in his simple and understated prose. This is a MUST READ for anyone who wants to know what life at sea is really like.

Honest Stories of a Man Dedicated to his Country and Family

I was very pleased to find this book in a Google search for Lt Commander Louis Tew. It is wonderful honest narrative about a man who dedicated his life to serving his country and family. So many of us wish that our parents had provided us with their stories in this manner. It is written just as his son Thomas describes as if you were sitting there and talking to him in person. I enjoyed reading of his involvement at Normandy and in the Pacific during WW2, his view of the construction of the Ortolan, the search for the lost nuclear warhead off of Spain and the search for the USS Scorpion. I had previously read about those two searches in Dr Cravens book. He overcame a lot of early hardships to accomplish things beyond what most people do.
I was acquainted with him during the construction of the Ortolan in Mobile Alabama. Back then I was a young engineer working for the company that built the machinery for the two ships. I recently found and scanned several 35mm slides including one of Commander Tew with the ASR 21 in the background taken on the day that it left Mobile. Commander Tew is on the right in the attached photo.
In the editors note, Thomas Tew solicits more stories and information but the book includes no method of contacting him. I would like to share this image with the family if I had a way of contacting them.

Full disclosure I know Mr. Tew. His story is well written and covers a lot of Navy life that I too experienced. While I never served with Mr. Tew I served with several others that he did, and they have the highest regard for him as do I. I must add that Mr. Tew was also responsible for starting the ASR/ARS association that still has reunions each year for the Navy Diving Community. His rise through the ranks of the Navy is similar to my own and his story brought back so many fond memories as well as a few hilarious and some that were forgettable. I highly recommend this story for any sailor and their family to enjoy.

Mr.Mutwol,this was a terrific little book!

Sometimes we tend to overlook works for whatever reasons and find literal gemstone buried somewhere in our KINDLE .This is what happened to me tonight.
This book just sort of tickled me on several levels.As far as I know,all of these"Life Lessons"were well stated and correct in their documentation..I suppose that a few of these ideas could have been paired down into a few less"Lessons"as they tended to sort of mush into one another but,nevertheless,it was great reading and very inspiring.A very good book,great message and an exceptional subject!
