This book is a must read for all experience levels of business owners, bloggers, vloggers coaches, consultants, artists, etc.. As Dr. Phil says, he "put verbs in his sentences." I am a very process oriented thinker, and the way the book was organized, it made TOTAL SENSE. He was specific and encouraging. My favorite thing? The fact that he dealt with topics in individual chapters (branding, blogging, book publishing, films, etc.). The only chapter I didn't read verbatim (but still skimmed) was the one on Indie Music--because I cannot carry a note sealed in an envelope (smile). Yeah, this is a must read for aspiring, emerging or seasoned entrepreneurs. Leaders are readers...

It taught me that I do not need permission to have my voice heard. Lamar Tyler uses a tone that resonates with someone just starting out and someone who has been in business for years. About the Author
David Lessoff was born and raised, as well as educated in New York City. He left Queens College to pursue a career in acting at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. David started to work in the Off-Off Broadway circuit at The American Theater of Actors where he had eight plays produced, several of which he directed. David won the Jean Dalyrymple award twice for best playwright. He spent 7 years working in Hollywood and collaborating with a number of screenwriters; one of his films being optioned, never making it to the big screen. He returned to New York and began a career in stand-up comedy. David played the comedy circuit for five years, but grew tired of the traveling. He presently works as a train conductor for New York Rail Road, which helped inspire The Eternal Express, his first novel.

"The Eternal Express" has guts and verve! I read through it twice and was unnerved both times. It's got shock power and tenderness and the different adventures of Spencer will keep you flipping to the next page. Definitely a good read and recommended.

A deeply moral thriller

I like this book very much. It is exciting to see how the author develops the story using magical realism. The action takes place in a magical, other-worldly environment yet it is anchored very much in the reality of the world we live in, a world that is much troubled. The protagonist is not only believable, he is likeable to the extent that the reader really cares what happens to him We feel for the protagonist as he suffers through the joys and sorrow of life, much as we do. How comes he to his new "job" as conductor of The Eternal Express? Each person he interacts with on the express seems to bear some relation to his own life and experience, and in interacting with these people, whether they have done good or evil, the protagonist comes at the end of the story to find his own redemption. It is a beautifully told tale involving the whole web of life. We are indeed all connected, and what we do matters, especially the way we act towards others. The story seems to be telling us that we need to take better care of each other; it a deeply moral tale. But this is not to say that it is merely didactic; by no means: The Eternal Express is an entertaining and exciting thriller. I know the author, and I urge him to have this good novel adapted as a TV miniseries--either on cable TV or perhaps in Canada or the United Kingdom where miniseries are regularly produced. I give this five stars.

The story starts off with a threesome between Amber, her boyfriend Dillion and Dillion's frat brother Brett. Brett arouses Dillion like no girl has done before and Dillion finds himself wanting to spend more time with Brett. Amber becomes an after thought. Well written, the story flowed well. Not much character development but it wasn't necessary for this story. The reader is satisfied at the end.

It's a paperback cover, but it's a thick hard stock and not flimsy at all. I actually like it better than my hardcover diaries, because it's light and not heavy at all. Buy it, you won't regret it!

Sweet Gay Love Story with a Questionable Twist.

I'm a fan of gay YA romance, and this was an entertaining take on this genre. The young author, Cameron Scott Day, puts it well himself; and I applaud his intentions and I believe he has achieved them - writing a YA gay love story that goes against the grain a bit - in terms of getting away from being excessively sexual so that it's not appropriate for YA readers, and away from predominantly dealing with YAs struggling with their sexuality. It is indeed nice to get away from that for a change, and with a good story.

I thought Day's writing was easy to read, with a decent plot and action, considering it was sort of "a day in the life" of Ethan, although not your typical day. I got into how Day was able to capture the euphoria of falling and being in love for the first time and of breaking up, betrayal, and learning about being in a relationship in general. Ah, those were the days; and thanks, Day, for helping me to remember some of that time. I know that people do not always act their age, but I did feel that sometimes Ethan, who was 19 then 21, seemed to too often act and think younger than his age, even younger at times than Scott, who was 3 years his junior.

The perspectives, perceptions of and descriptions by an author so young was refreshing and encouraging. At the same time, as one might usually expect from such a young author, there were really no big mature or deep insights about relationships that usually come from experience. Day may have tried to do that with some of the symbolism of the surprise ending, which worked some but not completely. The surprise aspect didn't bother me and would have been fine but for it's implausibility. Hopefully not giving anything away but wanting to explain, it did remind me of a certain movie (you'll know which one once you read this); but unlike that, this ending came totally out of left field, and even looking back, there were no clues along the way, at least that I could tell. So it still didn't make sense to me in that way. Techniques like this sometimes leave me feeling like it was more a literary gimmick just to get an emotional reaction or create a surprise ending; but without context, it doesn't work as well.

Ultimately, though, I will say that this didn't stop me from getting emotionally involved anyway. So it's well written along those lines, and made me go back and forth on what to route for and for whom in the roller coaster that defines YA romance.

Fantastic Love Store

Overall great book with a great plot. Like another reviewer stated, it was very refreshing not too have such a sexually charged plot. It was nice to actually see the love between the couple instead. The surprise ending was a bit of surprise, especially with no clues intertwined throughout the book, but overall a fantastic book for a great young author!

I knew that women were common in the Soviet and even the German armies but I honestly had no idea of the extent of their involvement. History books seem to gloss this all over. stories of men and women in World War 2

As time takes the last soldiers from World War II, it is important to find and share their firsthand accounts of the war that killed millions on land, in the air, and at sea. Not only should we learn the perspectives from our countrymen, but from soldiers of other nationalities as well. Set #7 from Ryan Jenkins's "World War 2 Soldier Stories" shares true stories from those who were in battles like in Stalingrad and Egypt, but also the support they offered to their comrades from the nurses in the Pacific like Ruby Bradley and test pilots like German Hanna Reitsch. All accounts are thorough and give detailed backgrounds of the situations they were in and what acts of bravery and heroism they had accomplished in spite of the odds.
This is a strong collection for World War 2 enthusiasts to own. Readers learn about struggles as well as events and acts that kept morale up when times were bad. Without those kinds of stories, we would only be able to wonder how those men and women could endure.

Awesome collection of Soldier Stories!!

So, this is the 3rd set I have read out of these Soldier Stories. I know the biggest reason I enjoy reading them is because I am a Veteran myself. I wish I had access to these stories when I was in the military or before joining because I think this is one of the most realistic ways to get some sort of visual of what's going on in a Soldier's mind and day to day life while they are in some of the scariest situations that some of them will ever face. I think it also could give hope to someone going through similar situations to see how these brave men and women made it through. I learned several things from reading this. In part 4 it mentions the war between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union being the most costly in terms of lives lost and damage caused, it makes me think of all the soldiers that have sacrificed their lives in hopes that their people can have a better future. Part 5 talks of lethal weather conditions soldiers had to face in the North African Desert and the huge quantity of flies they had to protect food and wounds from. Situations like this show the unbearable obstacles soldiers are facing on top of the War they are fighting. These stories add to my appreciation of the people that continue to protect us despite all the sacrifices they have to make to be able to do it.

Another great collection of soldier stories!

This is a collection of soldier stories, which consists of 3 books. These books include tales of soldiers on the Soviet Front, the African Front, and women in the battlefield.

The first part introduces you to the Soviet involvement in World War 2, including information on the treatment of Soviet POWs and prisoners. It also explains how the Germans were preparing to invade Moscow.

The second part describes what was happening in Africa during WW2. This includes facts on fighting in Tunisia, Egypt, and Ethiopia.

The third part is about women soldiers and the combat situations they saw. For instance, there were many Soviet female soldiers, and also females in the American and German military.

This book would be great to check out if you want to read about what it was like as a soldier in World War 2.

Well-organized, fun way to learn some French!

Having studied French in high school, and planning a trip there next summer, I decided it would be a good idea to hone up on some French. I've been told before that to truly learn a language you should learn its idioms, so this book stood out. It was a perfect choice.
The format is great for my kindle, and the phrases are inserted in a way that makes it easy to learn. The recommendation is for one phrase a day, and the book is divided in a way that makes it easy to spend a whole year learning these phrases. I, however, will have a hard time sticking to that rule, because the phrases used are both useful and interesting.
The author has put both the actual meaning, as well as the direct translation together, which kept me wanted to go forward to learn more and more, as it was very cool to see the difference. For example, we learn that the meaning of to faint, when directly translated is "to fall in the apples."
I truly don't believe I would have learned many of these phrases without this book, and am excited to use them when I do make my trip this next summer.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking to travel to a french speaking country, or to anyone who has an interest in the language. It is well-organized and interesting.

Great for Beginners, Simple and Fun!

This book is definitely not one of your run of the mill “Learn How to Speak” books. It doesn’t teach the usual tourist phrases, so if that’s what you’re looking for, this isn’t it. 365 Days of French Expressions doesn’t get bogged down with grammar and verb conjugations, or any of that boring “language” stuff. It teaches idioms – the colorful, figurative phrases every language contains. Each phrase is translated, of course, but the author includes not only what it means, but the literal translation into English – which can be extremely amusing! The book contains quizzes to test the reader’s progress, and the MP3 section is the absolute perfect “plus” to this book, allowing even someone with no previous experience with the language the ability to perfect their pronunciation. I think this book is great, and would highly recommend it to anyone planning to travel to France, or anyone who is simply interested in learning something new and fun.

365 Days of French Expressions: Learn One New French Expression a Day is wonderful.
Straight forward and direct, it does not bother with explanations that tend to overwhelm new learners, and annoy the more advance learners. Instead it provides the bare basic, this is what you want to say? Then this is how you say it. It also only focuses on French, not on Canadian French.
The book is more for a person who already has background in French, however. Though I do believe it can help new learners as well, just they will need to put in their own effort with the finer details. Luckily, there is an MP3 option, which I think would help the newer learners with pronunciation.
Giving it five stars, as it has helped me greatly, and I believe it can help learners from stages new to advance.
