I'm doing it backwards

I write email copy.
And I usually start with a point I want to make (begin with the end in mind, and all that). Then I struggle to find a way to make it interesting.
It's a tough slog.
Ian's suggestion: Collect interesting stories, then worry about the lesson later.
This will easily cut my writing time in half.
Off to create my swipe file...

Refreshing style, with actionable insights

This book is a keeper. Ian's writing style is clean & refreshing. His anecdotes are interesting. More important, his insights are actionable. Just a third of the way through, I know I'll plan to re-read and highlight key sentences in this book. Well done, Mr. Harris.

I can't think of a better way to rate a book than to say "It ...

I got something out of it even before finishing the book. I can't think of a better way to rate a book than to say "It helped me right away in the first chapter". The part of starting with a story helped me move forward with a video sales letter after getting stuck more than a month.
