Sweet romance of overcoming fear

It seems as if every time I'm not feeling well l come across a story by Berengaria Brown and this one with it's quiet sweetness is like a balm. I wasn't up for a story that was loud, violent, overly complicated with a lot of characters. No subs & found or bondage or spankings. One that wasn't too emotional or overly dramatic. And I found it in this tale.

I didn't read the first story in this series, but I found the premise of "Welcoming His Man" compelling in a quiet way. I was not disappointed in my selection. This was a sweet story that had me smiling after the angst in the first chapter. I wanted the two men to have a HEA, especially the young man, Jethro from the small town where he had been "persecuted, harassed, and traumatized because of his sexual orientation". He finally has All that he ever desired a fresh start, a safe place to live, friends, and an introduction to what life as a gay man could be like. All that is except someone to love.

Bart is a very promising artist who is openly gay. He is gentle and patient with the young man he meets at the Bath house. They both share a strong mutual attraction. They also compliment each other in many ways. Watching them discover what could accomplish together was enjoyable.

This book isn't everyone's cup of tea. As a matter of fact it is a "cozy" m/m romance. Just like cozy mysteries aren't for everyone. Nor are regency romances, even gay ones. There's no big unveiling or catastrophe. Other than first chapter the story moves along at a sedate pace. It's not too long, just long enough to be tell a decent story.

Knight gives a good overall view about the different types of non-profit organizations

Starting and running a business requires a thorough knowledge. There are many different classes of business people start—self-proprietary, limited liability corporation, a general corporation and non-profit organizations. Each has its own rules, in both starting and running it.. Most of it has to do with the business tax laws, the structure and operation of these businesses as well as with liability issues—the owner(s)’ responsibility, in case of damages or accidents involving the company.

This book on “How to Start a Non-profit Organization by A. J. Knight, gives a good overall view about the different types of non-profit organizations, addressing their many facets, particularly their legal and tax shelter privileges and all the responsibilities that come with these advantages.

Before you start a non-profit organization, though, it’s important to address the reasons for starting one, who you plan to serve or benefit, the kinds of services you plan to offer and where you plan to locate your business. It’s also important to know about your competition before start the venture. If another company is providing the service(s) you plan to offer, your starting the same business next door to one will only lead to failure.

This book is just amazing. I like the way the book is written, it is very easy to follow and to understand, even though it is packed with a lot of useful information. The author has succeeded in relaying the information so that anyone can understand. That is why getting to know the basics is essential and this book will help you through it. So, you should have this book to guide you through the basic and important steps that you need to form a nonprofit organization.

Amazing Breath of Fresh Air

This is an AMAZING and MUCH NEEDED breath of fresh air book, in today's world of Witchcraft. I am a LONG TIME FAN of Ellen Dugans works. ( Long before social media ) and Tess Whitehurst. I loved how these two ladies ( Friends And Witches ) came together and wrote a book telling their separate ideas, opinions and workings on different topics of the same subjects. The way these two ladies can have such differing opinions of the same subject and STILL manage to be Friends, without bashing each other, or disassociating from one another is a MUCH NEEDED guide in today's world of social media outbursts of opinions. Our world is drastically changing in front of our eyes every day. The Craft has gone through a lot of changes, since I started on my path 20 years ago. As an old school soul, its hard to watch sometimes. It use to be, pagans and witches, could agree to disagree, (because it was common knowledge that NO TWO WITCHES would ever completely agree on one topic/subject, NOR did they have to... ) but Today it is more of a ..." agree with me or your banished FOREVER" type of motto...with social media, this mindset definitely goes beyond just paganism or witchcraft, but just about anything anyone talks about.
This book is so refreshing, and rejuvenating!!! As someone who has felt herself pull away from the craft, socially, because of social media, this book has helped me to redefine my own values and opinions, and reminds me, that it is in ME to decide, what feels right and what doesn't.
I not only hope these two ladies decide to do a hard copy of this book, I also hope they decide to do ANOTHER BOOK...like this...Cussing and Discussing the different *hot topics* of the Craft! Many Blessings, Ellen & Tess )0( & Much Love from a HUGE FAN! Thank You!!!!

A long time coming...

This book is one that I wish had been written when I first came to the craft. I love the fact that both ladies are well known (and respected) in the craft, are friends, and both approach the craft from a different perspective.

In the craft, we're taught "All paths lead to one". There is no one true way. This books just goes to prove the truth of those teachings. The duality of day and night, yin and yang, masculine and feminine... all come together when these two ladies share their ideas. They are allowing us, the community, a new way to consider the craft *today*.

Yes, there's bound to be a bit of talk, perhaps a bit of controversy. We've all seen it before and (considering the comments) it's happening again. But here's another take - we're TALKING, exchanging ideas, and bringing forth a new way of thinking. Remember when you first started the craft? "No, I'd never go skyclad". "No, I won't wear robes." While it's important to remember and honor our past, it is equally important to move forward and keep abreast with times we live in now. The Lord AND the Lady are both halves of the same coin.

That's where this book is helpful. It allows the reader to explore two different sides of each question. No matter which side you land on, someone else will have a different opinion. It allows you to see how other witches may (or may not) work. We're a community of diverse individuals and yet we have our common goals and interests as well. And that's OKAY! To turn a blind eye to this would be a shame. I like that I can see and hear how another member works, without compromising my own beliefs. These ladies aren't asking you to CHANGE, just to open your mind and see things through another lens.

I hope you try this book, and love it as I have, not just for the wonderful spells (and there are plenty of those) but for the heart within.... and remember that we are ONE.

I thought it was a very good read! As for the Christian Witch issue

I thought it was a very good read! As for the Christian Witch issue, I was confused by Ellen's definitions. If she is talking about being a Christian Wicca, then I agree that it may cause problems with the monotheistic vs. polytheistic worship issue. However, not all Witches are Wiccan, in the same way that not all Jews are of the Jewish faith (there are many Jews that are Jewish by nationality but choose other forms of worship, such as the Messianic Jews. I've also known some Buddist Jews). And who says that all Witches have to be polytheistic? Can't a Witch believe and worship one Great Spirit and still honor the earth as creation while using magick in prayers and rituals? Someone somewhere used the term "Christian Mystic", which I thought was very clever. However, in the end it's up to the individual. That said, I had to completely laugh at the image of the white sundress chick! Ellen has such a great way of writing! And I truly appreciate hers and Tess's points of view and the variety found in this book. Both give a fresh perspective to a myriad of topics, and I think this book has a lot to offer.

Great story line

I don't normally review shifter stories because honestly, they are usually fluff to clear my mind between heavier novels. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy them and some series are pretty addictive. However, I usually stay away from Downs because she seems to have this frustrating habit of starting a series I really enjoy, and then not continuing them and not wrapping them up either. I started to read this series because she is writing with another author, so I figure I might get more of this series than usual.

I have to say I loved the story line. I loved Raphael's issues. I thought it was intriguing that an immortal was so afraid of germs. It really portrays how powerful phobias and the brain truly are. It helps a reader who doesn't live with these issues really see the impact of dealing with something other people see as irrational. I thought Raphael balanced well with Cody. I also loved how Cody handled Raphael's issues. It taught Cody a lot about himself. It also helped the reader to understand he wasn't just a fun loving, go with the flow kind of guy. That Cody had depth and good character. Although, those traits did help in how Cody let Raphael be Raphael.

I also liked how Raphael wasn't cured of his issues, he was able to manage them, but they didn't just magically disappear just because he fell in love. The only thing missing from the book was the claiming. I would have liked to see how the couple handled Cody's claiming bite, and what the mating ritual is for Raphael's people. The claiming tattoo scene was also absent. I think that was also an important part of the story. I think Downs missed the mark by leaving those two things out of the book.

I also have to say the waterfall scene was just amazing. I am always interested in new paranormals and their abilities. To read about Raphael's shifted form was great, one of my favorite parts of the book. The sex in that shifted form wasn't something I have ever read before. I have to say it was very hot. I had wondered what his shifted form was throughout the book because it was hinted at a few times. I was happily surprised because with all my imaginings I wasn't even close.

I have to say this is a definite reread for me. If you like this genre then you won't be disappointed.

Keeps getting better!

I know it's possible to make love in the water, but to the water? What exactly is a water nymph? Do they live in the water? How were they created? Why were they created? Where did they originate? There are so many possibilities with a new type of shifter.
I'm so busy reading a bunch of different series that I lost track of which books I'd finished in The Forgotten series. Luckily I saw on Goodreads that the third book in the series had been released. I'm just so sorry I missed out on reading this sooner.
What a fun book. I'd wondered what ways the authors were going to keep the series fresh and interesting, well Jana did it. A nymph with severe cleaning OCD combined with high anxiety is in the dirty filthy woods searching for an unclean animalistic wolf shifter who just might be one of the Forgotten. This is an adventure, a mystery, and most of all a romance involving two flawed men/Nightkin who find each other despite the odds. I can't wait to see what Gabrielle Evans does now that the baton has been passed to her.

But after all the word is hybrid Greek, not a native name, and may be classed as a nickname, itself much younger than the supposed state; and then, naturally, it would be as comprehensively descriptive as the ingenuity of man could devise. I had ordered this book on kindle some time ago . I am not finished reading it due to my busy schedule. I chose this rating because so far, the Author has proven true facts of historical background, as well, an excellent research of information about the Ancient warrior women. In other words, The Author has done his homework !
so far I have been enjoying reading this book. there isn't anything, that, I am displeased with.

I would recommend this book to all the women especially to those, who are in a need for strength and courage. for those who have fallen
and cannot get up. this book is the perfect example.

Must Have Equity Compensation Guide

Consider Your Options is a concise, clear introduction to various forms of equity compensation. I've recommended the book to several colleagues this year, both as a tool to help with planning stock option exercise strategies for both incentive stock options and non-qualified stock options, and also as a good reference material for understanding job offers received in any industry where RSUs, restricted stock, or stock options are offered as part of the package. It's a must have book for people who are likely to receive, or who have received, equity compensation of any type. Highly recommended!

FANTASTIC all around read in the subject of Employee Stock / Options

This book is a VERY good read for anyone interested in stock Options, restricted stock, ESPP, RSU's, etc. Everything is explained in plain English without going so deep into the subject matter that you get hopelessly lost. However, there is something for everybody as so many items are explained so well that even if you are already familiar with the subject matter (as I already was) you will still pick up so much information that you did not know. This book is required reading for some college classes (as is the case for me), and rightly so. I would explain this book as a beginner to intermediate read in this subject matter, and one of the best books I have read on this subject (I've read about 15 or so books in learning about stock options and employee stock).

Was a review of the sample (edited), now a review of the book

My original review was as follows... 'How short does the book have to be if there is no text in the sample? I'm not willing to risk my money on this one.' (one star)

For this I copped a bit of a back-lash via comments but it had the desired effect, the sample now contains text...I read the sample...it sounded okay...I bought the book...will let you all know how it goes. (4 stars)

Disappointing. Although the author obviously has an ability to write, & displayed a wonderful turn of phrase & vocabulary, the sophomoric terms used to describe a penis & sex really detracted from the reading experience. As this was a series of 'coming out' stories about young men the terms might be explained away by the authors attempt to speak in a voice of that generation...BUT...it just didn't work.

If you don't mind terms like 'man meat' & 'Rodger' & 'poop chute' then you might enjoy this quick read.

"Man to Man Firsts" is a book of short stories about...gay men losing their virginites to other men. Those stories are short, sweet, and to the point. It's not that they're not thought out completely or anything, though. We do get a sense of the main character, whether they've just discovered they're gay, or if they've known for awhile, but they've never acted upon it. They all meet men who are willing to help them with their...ahem...issue.

I'm not going to go into detail of every story. I would just say that most of them are almost funny. Whether or not that was the author's intention, I laughed quite a lot while I was reading. I learned a lot of new words for the male anatomy and the act of ejaculation. I read these aloud to my husband, and even HE laughed (He's totally not into manlove stories). This is why I'm giving this book a 2.5 rather than a 2, Otherwise, I have to say that the stories are rather crude. There is absolutely NO flowery words or descriptions anuwhere in them. They're down and dirty. There's a time and a place for that, and I supposed that a lot of people must enjoy that type of thing, or else they wouldn't be written. Personally, I do like my stories to be a little bit romantic along with hot and sexy. None of that here.

I didn't necessarily HATE "Man to Man Firsts". It's just really my cup of tea. Everyone's opinion is different, and to each his own. Just know what you're going into before you read this book.
