Was a review of the sample (edited), now a review of the book

My original review was as follows... 'How short does the book have to be if there is no text in the sample? I'm not willing to risk my money on this one.' (one star)
For this I copped a bit of a back-lash via comments but it had the desired effect, the sample now contains text...I read the sample...it sounded okay...I bought the book...will let you all know how it goes. (4 stars)
30 minutes later...
Disappointing. Although the author obviously has an ability to write, & displayed a wonderful turn of phrase & vocabulary, the sophomoric terms used to describe a penis & sex really detracted from the reading experience. As this was a series of 'coming out' stories about young men the terms might be explained away by the authors attempt to speak in a voice of that generation...BUT...it just didn't work.
If you don't mind terms like 'man meat' & 'Rodger' & 'poop chute' then you might enjoy this quick read.

"Man to Man Firsts" is a book of short stories about...gay men losing their virginites to other men. Those stories are short, sweet, and to the point. It's not that they're not thought out completely or anything, though. We do get a sense of the main character, whether they've just discovered they're gay, or if they've known for awhile, but they've never acted upon it. They all meet men who are willing to help them with their...ahem...issue.
I'm not going to go into detail of every story. I would just say that most of them are almost funny. Whether or not that was the author's intention, I laughed quite a lot while I was reading. I learned a lot of new words for the male anatomy and the act of ejaculation. I read these aloud to my husband, and even HE laughed (He's totally not into manlove stories). This is why I'm giving this book a 2.5 rather than a 2, Otherwise, I have to say that the stories are rather crude. There is absolutely NO flowery words or descriptions anuwhere in them. They're down and dirty. There's a time and a place for that, and I supposed that a lot of people must enjoy that type of thing, or else they wouldn't be written. Personally, I do like my stories to be a little bit romantic along with hot and sexy. None of that here.
I didn't necessarily HATE "Man to Man Firsts". It's just really my cup of tea. Everyone's opinion is different, and to each his own. Just know what you're going into before you read this book.

What's missing?

Stories we're ok, but there was something missing? Didn't quite sound like a male's writing. Also, they were all too similar in the first time m2m encounters.
