Almost 4 stars, but...

This book has left me confused. After couple of pages I felt that there was something I should have known already, so I browsed a bit and found out that there are some short stories about Will and Hugh released previously. So where does it leave this story? I am still not quite sure. Was it meant to be about Hugh and his new boyfriend Truman or was it just continuation of stories about Will, only with a different approach? As far as I understand both Hugh and Truman are shrinks, therefore I wonder how they can communicate as poorly as they obviously do - not declaring their feelings, not discussing their arrangement - for seven long months. But otherwise quite decent reading.

'Hugh's New Dude' is the sequel to The Scientific Method Complete Miniseries.

This author's stories are addictive. He has this talent with dialogues that is uncanny. His writing flows seamlessly, his characters are believable and touching, real humans. I cannot help getting sucked into the emotions and concerns they experience. They make me think, they make me reconsider my emotions, make me feel normal for having those reactions. I don't know this author's background, but his writing, book cover choices, editing and formatting are pretty much flawless. Pure joy.

HOT! Fantastic follow up to A Scientific Method

Ok so I was so not ready for Hugh to get a new dude. Even if both Will and Hugh was fine with it. I was still pretty hung op on my 'Hugh and Will HEA'. I mean they were so cute together wtf is this about a new dude for Hugh!?!
Boy was I wrong! Truman is an absolutely perfect introduction to the story. Discovering how Hugh, Will and Truman fits together is beautiful (and HOT – the hot sex does help too).

I don't think I could be in a 3 way relationship. I love erotica with multiple people, but have always felt like it could not really work outside the bed or for long periods of time. Multiple partners stories mostly feel like nice fantasies rather than something for real persons. But in Hugh's New Dude I found a relationship that makes sense to me. I feel like for these characters being in this relationship could actually work.

Hugh's New Dude was not the follow up to The Scientific Story I was hoping for. It was so much better. I absolutely love how it managed to surprise me and how the love is just flowing from every page.

Still falling more and more in love with the wonderful cast of characters that manages to surprise me and challenge my world view. Love how characters actually talk to each other. Crazy about the mixture of bsdm, sex, love, fun, growth and acceptance. Impressed with the very slow and steady building of the sex; each scene feels like progress and yet nothing spirals out of control.

Disclaimer; I pretty much devoured A Scientific Method Story Book 1-9 back to back. So for this review I am trying to remember this book on its own – even if it is pretty much all one long story to me.

I enjoyed this simple little book, the story of a young transgender woman from Hawaii, dealing with an abusive relationship. In coming to terms with what she needs, she grows quite a bit. One hopes her experience will open the door for better future life choices with men.

A great place to start

One of the things that I hate about living in an apartment is the lack of yard space. I grew up on a farm in Western New York and I loved being around the fresh veggies. It’s something sorely lacking here. I never heard of vertical gardening before this book. I was actually looking on a book for how to start a window box garden. The instructions seemed easy enough so I got permission from my landlord to put one up outside my apartment. We have a small patch of open land there and it seemed like an ideal spot. It was a bit of a challenge but we got everything in place with a little trial and error. The book was a great help and we stuck with it. Things are just starting to bloom but this book was a great way of getting started! The advice in the book is practical and easy to follow. I like that it's written straight forward and it cuts out a lot of the fluff. It's short but informative and just enough to get me started!

There are also tips for keeping pests out and making a garden indoors. I would recommend this book to anyone that lives in a small space and wants to have their own garden or learn how to grow their own food.

In 2005, the world watched in horror as Hurricane Katrina decimated New Orleans, and the calamity seemed all the worse because many felt that technology had advanced far enough to prevent such tragedies, whether through advanced warning or engineering. At the same time, that tends to overlook all of the dangers posed by hurricanes and other phenomena that produce natural disasters. After all, storms and hurricanes have been wiping out coastal communities ever since the first humans built them.

As bad as Hurricane Katrina was, the hurricane that struck southern Florida in September 1928 killed hundreds more, with an estimated death toll of over 2,500 people. Prior to advanced communications, few people knew about impending hurricanes except those closest to the site, and in the days before television or the widespread use of radios, catastrophic descriptions were merely recorded on paper, limiting an understanding of the immediate impact. Stories could be published after the water receded and the dead were buried, but by then, the immediate shock had worn off and all that remained were the memories of the survivors. Thus, it was inevitable that the Category 5 hurricane wrought almost inconceivable destruction as it made landfall in Florida with winds at nearly 150 miles per hour, and in addition to the powerful storm itself, the flooding of Lake Okeechobee, the 7th largest freshwater lake in the country, exacerbated the damage by spilling across several hundred square miles, which were covered in up to 20 feet of water in some places.

Terrible Book

Sorry to say, this is, without a doubt, the worst book I have ever read. It is full of inaccuracies (for example, Okeechobee is NOT east of Palm Beach), and the photographs are very poorly reproduced, which could have been done much better, as evidenced in the 2 x 4 piercing the palm. I am going to finish it, but it's very tedious because of the poor quality.

Westerners believe in the concept of the wild, but is this a reality for peoples that have lived in a place for so long? I mean to give credit, where the credit is due. In my opinion this was not the wild for the local natives. Southern California was the spot they were created, loved, sang, danced, and survived for many thousands of years near the cold and hot springs. Could local peoples, in one of the good climatic intervals, create a civilization here using and trading all the incredible resources available? The answer is yes they did and now we must open our eyes, to see the mega-art and ancient culture left behind. This native art could have represented many things including creation history, astrological signs, calendar ritual timing, bird and sheep songs, musical notes, and other things related to native life. But this reference is too vague to count for much. The mountain or person might be mythological, as among the Mohave; that is, an ancient bestowing divinity rather than a present and controllable spirit.” The local native shaman could read the mega-art on the hills and teach others while vision-questing and reading the ways life the bird songs and sheep songs should be spent. The types of natural phenomena I have seen are shooting stars, star alignments, and thunderstorms. The interesting cultural art I have seen is humans wearing masks and shields representing the First People, a shaman blowing smoke three times, and a human figure swinging a bull-roarer. What I am explaining is that staying within the local native guidelines, will help when searching for new or previously discovered mega-glyphic art.

I like this book

If you have questions about the images seen on the San Bernardino Mountain's southern face by the Native Americas that led to their legends of creation and other cultural stories (besides just The Arrowhead) this book relates both those legends and with color photographs and graphic shows you where to look today to see those animal shapes on the mountain. Its large format and print makes the information easier to read than a smaller book, since there are many oral tradition stories in the text. Porter has referenced where he got his stories giving the book a historically accurate feeling, so it could be used by teachers and others who want that documentation. I like this book.

Excellent Resource For Government/Private/Non-Profit Grantor/Partners

As a local, regional, and state government executive with more than four decades of experience, I would highly recommend this clearly written straight forward comprehensive guide to securing funding options to those non-profit staff learning how to secure and leverage funding along with public policy makers and employees who have to assist current and potential grantors and non-profit partners with developing proposals, "for the public good." Ms. Davis's format and easy to understand definitions will enable all involved to use a common language necessary to develop better proposals and agreements with measurable outcomes. Private partners and donaters would also benefit from bettering understanding best practices in securing funds to ensure non-profit has adopted policies seeking multiple funding assurances and considering all alternatives necessary to leverage and succeed long term in carrying out their common missions. Success is much about having adequate funding. This guide is a wise investment to help all involved to better manage the varied funding options to achieve sustainable success and funding deals.

It is nicely organized, very readable, and offers concrete examples. It also helps lessen the fear of fundraising and helps build competency.

Congregations can implement the wisdom in 7 Nonprofit Income Streams: Open the Floodgates to Sustainability! in several ways:
-To strengthen their own thinking about congregational revenue.
