Through it all, our Matinee Child observes and tries to make sense of a strange world, applying a boy's perceptions to a time more complex than he can understand.

Nice story of boy growing up innocent in a time and place where life was much more innocent than it is today. There is an purity in this story. Imagine childhood not compromised by shallow culture and wonton materialism.
